When God created human beings, He gave them the blessing of starting families. Families come in all shapes and sizes, and family relationships can often be loving, frustrating, awkward or even stressful. Whatever your experience of family so far, there are lessons we can take from the Bible about family relationships and about God’s heart for healthy interactions between parents and children, brothers and sisters. In this workshop we’ll be looking at some of the common issues that affect family dynamics today and at some of the practical ways we can try to mend, bridge or strengthen our relationships with the people God created us to be closest with on earth.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Ben first came to PHAT camp as a camper 10 years ago, and has seen his life and other young peoples’ lives changed by encountering the amazing grace and love of Jesus at camp (which is why he keeps coming back!). Born and raised in cloudy Yorkshire, he ventured to sunny London for five years before deciding to head back north where he is now a chemistry teacher in rainy Manchester. When not busy preparing lessons (or procrastinating), he may be found tinkling piano keys, eating out with friends or following his beloved football club Liverpool.
Hard to believe but Lok has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently Mathematics teacher. At the moment he is situated in Birmingham where he attends BCEC and serves as the “Jack of all trades” on the worship team. During his free time you will either find him napping, drinking coffee, playing recklessly on the drums or napping. Lok was once very different, but everything changed when he decided to walk closely with God to undertake spiritual moulding to become, the person he is now.
